Kitchen Table Lingo 2009Kitchen Table Lingo 2009

We are hoping to follow up our first book of home-made words with another collection in 2009. But we can only do so with your help.

Kitchen Table Lingo is primarily about private language – the invention and handing on of words within families or friendship groups. It is not slang (which is in common usage and which no-one can quite pin down in its origins).

So if you have words which:

  • have been invented or been handed down amongst your family or friends
  • are not in the standard dictionaries (or at least not with that meaning)
  • are used by at least three people
  • have been in use for at least one month
  • are decent and repeatable

then we would like to receive them. Just fill in the details below.
